Wow, it has been forever since we got around to doing a blog post! Things have been busy, but we will try to update more frequently again. In the mean time, here are a few stills from some current projects we have been working on:

Pictured above is Daniel Deputy of the band Blank Pages. We recently shot a music video for their song "Goodbye".

The video still above was captured using a new toy of ours attached to the outside of my car. We will definitely be using this setup for future videos!

And finally, here is a still from a recent shoot that involved some extra effects work. In this shot we used Mocha for After Effects to track the surface of the side of the block. Using the tracking data we were able to edit in the projected video into a rather complex camera movement.

T3MultiSport

Check out this dramatic promo we produced for T3MultiSport. T3 is the place to go in for anything triathlon related in Indiana hands down. Make sure to like their Facebook page if you check them out!

Production Notes:
This video was shot on the Canon 7D with the 24-70mm L-series lens at 60FPS. To get the biking and running shots, we filmed from the tailgate of a truck using our Glidecam rig for stabilization (I was strapped down with about 10 bungie cords - safety first!). A couple of the running shots were also done by just running behind our triathlete.

In post we cut the spot together in FCP, then did the color work in After Effects. The AE work was mainly done using the Leave Color effect combined with some masking work to cut out the blue sky.

Overall it was a pretty fun shoot to see how the 7D can perform for action shots. We hope to do some more videos for T3 soon and will post them here when we do!

Cholula Shoot [Updated with Video!]

We recently finished our 30 second spot for Cholula Hot Sauce and are proud to show off the final result. A special thanks goes out to voice over talent Scott Moore (www.scottmoore.voice123.com). Scott was a huge help on this project and we highly recommend you listen to the wide range of work in his demo reels.

New Zippo Ad Coming Soon! [Update with Video!]

This week we are finishing our latest spec ad for Zippo lighters and are excited to get it out there and see what everyone thinks!

We had alot of help from people on this one so we want to take a minute to thank Karissa, J-Lotto, and Josh for their on-screen appearances as well as Chase Houston of HEAR Agency for a sweet soundtrack.

We also want to give a shout out to Poptent.net for providing the opportunity to get our work seen by the brand.

Follow the Leader

Green Sky Media recently produced the above commercial spot for the Sarasota, FL based Center X Productions - a bar-raising field show design, production, and coordination company. Center X wanted a promotional spot to air during the upcoming Bands of America Grand National Championships - an event that takes place every year at our very own Lucas Oil Stadium. We're very happy with the final spot and we're extremely excited to see it featured on the 37 by 97 foot Daktronics video display over the Lucas Oil field! We'd like to thank Jeff Young and Mike Pote for appearing in the spot, and a special thanks goes out to Chris at Ackerman Audio for the excellent voice over! Same As Sunday

We've got a lot of new music video updates for you guys to check out! First, we'd like to share with you the release of our complete music video for Same As Sunday's single, "Roads? Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads!" Their new EP "Earn Your Stripes" features this awesome single and is set to be released on Tuesday, October 26th! J-Lotto

Secondly, we also have a teaser clip we've put together for the new music video we're doing for J-Lotto! The track is titled "Headed to the Sky" and features some cool shots of J walking around the streets of downtown Indianapolis. Green Sky Media recently produced a promotional video for Current in Real Estate - the largest and most read independent real estate publication in the country - and we love the results. We brought on one of our favorite local actors, Dustin Helton, and it was great working with someone that we've had fun working with in the past. You never know if Mother Nature is going to be on your side when it comes to shooting video in an outdoor location, but luckily It was a great day so it made for a nice "fountainside" shoot. A big thank you goes out to Humam Salahieh who created the original music used in the video.

We've Been Chosen!

The results are in! Green Sky Media's video for the Nokia Nuron 5230 has been purchased for Nokia's online campaign! Poptent.net managed the exclusive creative talent outreach for Nokia's video needs and Green Sky's creation proved to be a crowd favorite from early on. Because participation was by invitation only, it's an honor to even be asked to submit a pitch - and boy are we glad we did! We really put ourselves into this project, and thanks to some hard work and a great cast we think the results speak for themselves! The video was intended to help create awareness of this exciting new phone and the awesome navigation features that are accessed using Nokia's own Ovi Maps software. We really wanted to come up with a funny and entertaining video that not only is great to watch, but actually helps share the unique features of the device in a creative way. We feel that we accomplished this feat and we're honored that Nokia liked it as much as we did!

Same As Sunday

Last night we had an awesome video shoot with the local Indianapolis-based Pop/Punk band "Same As Sunday". The song was titled "Roads...Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads" and our more savvy readers might notice that it's a reference to the classic line from Back to The Future. Green Sky Media and Same As Sunday were pounding pavement and hitting up multiple locations to shoot 3 storyline scenes and had a huge blowout performance piece for the end of the video with a ton of fans in tow! The band posted a last minute bulletin on their MySpace and Facebook pages looking for extras for the video and managed to get 70+ fans to show their support and come out to be on camera! Although you might think having that many people "on set" would be pretty hectic, it really wasn't that hard for our crew to manage and we had a lot of fun working with the everyone! The energy that the fans brought to the table really helped bring the music video to life. Keep an eye out for the debut of the video soon!

Freeway to the Fairway

On Thursday, Green Sky Media had a very important mission...to supply golfers with beer. Now I know what you're thinking..."Hey, don't golfers drive?" The fact is, yes, golfers love to drink and drive - but instead of cars and freeways, it's balls and fairways! We stepped in and manned the beverage cart for the 17th Annual REALTOR® Foundation Charity Golf Outing 2010 and had a blast doing it. We have worked with the foundation for a few years now and we've been the go-to crew for production work for their annual gala event. This event is just one more way that we are working with our partners and getting involved in our community.

HoodieBuddie Says Dance!

The wait is over! The awesome promo video that we created for HoodieBuddie is finished! We had a blast doing this shoot and we really think it shows. Our 30 second video is bright, cheery, and playful and we think it is a great fit for the prospective HoodieBuddie customer. The creative brief we were provided asked that we accomplish a few specific tasks. First, we were to show how cool, versatile, and functional the HoodieBuddie is. We were also asked to show how it works, and various ways to use it while attempting to embody the fun, bright, spirit of the brand. Lastly, the overall goal is of course to also drive sales and web visits. Green Sky Media asked our 2 awesome actors for the shoot (Tiffany and Davey) to demonstrate how to use the headphones while dancing around the colorful streets of Broad Ripple (in the mid 80's no less!) to an awesome track by Justin LaGrange. The video embodies the fun that you can have with the HoodieBuddie and we really think we blew this one out of the park and can't wait to see what both the brand, and you of course, thinks of our vision for this project!

Green Sky Media has been selected by PopTent for an invite-only contest yet again! This time, we're using our skills to create an awesome 30 second promotional video to embody the fun, bright, and style-concious spirit of the HoodieBuddie brand. Launching this year for the first time, The HoodieBuddie is the world’s first hooded sweatshirt with built-in headphones in the drawstrings, and an iPod/Mp3 connector integrated into the pocket. Our task is to show how cool, versatile, and functional the HoodieBuddie is to help drive traffic to the HoodieBuddie website. High School and College students are the target demographic for this project, so we feel that our youthful and energetic approach makes Green Sky Media a great choice for this assignment. We are excited to see what we can do for HoodieBuddie and can't wait to get started!

Indianapolis Senior Center

The Indianapolis Senior Center, the largest senior facility in central Indiana, recently reached out to Green Sky Media to create an engaging promotional video highlighting many facets of their establishment. They wanted a video that would share the history of the center, their recent $4.2 million dollar restoration / expansion, and to shed light on their plethora of programs and benefits. Green Sky Media took this opportunity to to create a video that we know would not only be a great promotional piece for the center, but would also serve as a tool to help educate and aid prospective new members in selecting a facility that was right for them. We took great care in capturing the essence of the facility through thoughtful cinematography of the grounds, classes in session, special events, and the fitness center as well as many other amenities. We truly feel we accomplished this goal and love the final look of the piece.

The Party Queen

Green Sky Media was recently honored with an invitation to participate in an exclusive Nokia video contest on Poptent.net. Nokia asked Poptent for their help in selecting the top 50 creative teams in their thriving community, and since such a select few were even given the opportunity to participate, we were happy to oblige. The newly released Nokia 5230 Nuron phone, with free lifetime navigation and OVI Maps, is an exciting new device. Nokia was looking for a way to help create awareness of this exciting new phone and the great navigation features contained within. Green Sky Media stepped up to the plate with a funny and entertaining video that not only is fun to watch, but actually helps share the unique features of the device in a creative way. Our entry is already proving to be an early favorite and we'd like to thank Tanah, Brooke, Jake, and of course our lead actress Mary Beth for their help making this project come to life.

EPA Chooses Green Sky's PSA as Winner

The Environmental Protection Agency just announced the winners for its Our Planet, Our Stuff, Our Choice video contest and our 30 second spot took first place. Thanks again to Quartny for her cute crochet characters and a winning script! Also thanks to Melissa for her help setting up and executing some of the toughest shots.

Beck's Viral Video

We always enjoy any chance we get to try something new with animation, so we were very excited when Poptent.net announced the Beck's Viral Video assignment. We quickly came up with an idea and needed to figure out a way to make the bottles animate fluidly (rather than the normal, twitchy stop-motion style). After a morning of animation tests we were able to shoot and edit this spot:

New Commercial: Robin Run Village

We just wrapped up production on a new commercial for Robin Run Village, a senior living community on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The 30 second spot will be airing soon on WTHR. ASU Buys Green Sky Ads

Zooppa recently announced the videos picked by Arizona State University to promote their Spirit of Service Scholars Program. We created two 30 second ads for the project and are excited to have both picked up the University. One video was targeted at getting potential students to apply to the program. The other was to encourage donor support.

Both videos utilized the same style - soft, subtly dramatic light on multiple on-camera speakers and a soft neutral gradient background. Here is the ad that targets donors:

Best Of Zooppa

As you already know we enjoy competing in many online video contests. They provide us with a good opportunity to try new things when it comes to writing, production, and editing - all while competing with other video professionals from around the country.

One of the sites on which we are frequently active is Zooppa. Zooppa brings its creative community together with brands to create what it calls 'people-powered brand energy.' The U.S. branch launched just over a year ago, and in celebration Zooppa is recognizing some of its creators in the Best of Zooppa competition. Zooppa went through thousands of entries from this past year's contests and invited its favorite ads to compete to be recognized as the best. While the contest is still going, we are honored to be among a handful of creators invited to the contest.

The following ad was chosen as one of the best by Zooppa. It is our video "Going Green" for Brooks Biomogo Running Shoes created in May of 2009, check it out:

The Power of Recycling

Check out our latest PSA created for the Environmental Protection Agency's 'Our Planet, Our Choice, Our Stuff' Video Contest.

The animal characters were created using the Japanese style of crocheting known as Amigurumi. We had more animals ready to go for the video, but since we decided to keep the PSA at 30 seconds we had to leave the fish and his friends out.

Down the road we hope to create some more spots with these types of characters, so maybe they will get a second chance!

Coors Light Buys Ad from Green Sky

It has been a while since we have had a blog, but we are going to kick this year off right and get a new one started!

And fortunately we have some exciting news to announce on our first post! Coors Light has purchased a video we created using the footage and theme from their popular 'Coaches' campaign.

The opportunity was given to us from our friends over at Poptent.net, who worked with Coors Light to create the assignment. Over 700 video creators accepted the assignment and entered a total of 123 videos.

Our commercial "Questions for Coach Romeo" was one of only 6 videos purchased and will be showcased on Tivo in the weeks leading up to the 2010 Super Bowl. Click here to see our video as well as the other 5 that Coors Light chose.
